Firstly a huge thanks to the 6 local members (including Ian, Steve, Wayne, Peter & Vanessa) who gave up some 8+ hours to run an awesome event for Juniors from all over Wide Bay.

With 5 Juniors unable to attend on the day we still had 48 play, so along with their parents Peter & Vanessa made over 80 lunches of a burger & chips that were clearly enjoyed!

Also a special thanks to the Wide Bay Junior Coordinator, Kristin for helping manage the golfers on the day and providing her support & wisdom  (after 12 years as Junior Coordinator @ Hervey Bay her experience was most appreciated!).

The weather was perfect; the course was hard and fast and again proved a challenge but the Juniors were up for it this year. In the 18 Hole Boys we had two great gross scores of 74, and we were especially impressed with the 75 that Rebecca shot given that she had to cope with the mental stress of playing off a +6 handicap! Imagine standing on the 1st Tee and thinking you need to have 6 birdies and 12 pars just to play to your handicap!! Under such mental stress any score under 80 was good imo!!

And a special thanks to all the parents and grand-parents who came and supported their children!
